The Man Who Revealed What is Behind the Faith of the Jehovah’s Witnesses

Raymond Franz, a distinguished personality in the field of contemporary religious scene and author of widely recognized book The Crisis of Conscience will address a Czech audience as part of his October 2007 European tour. He is a former high ranking member of Jehovah’s Witnesses leadership (member of so called Governing Body) and so far has been the only one who publicly broke the silence regarding of what is going on behind the scenes in this group of few men who control the lives of 6 million Witnesses worldwide. In conjunction with his presentation, his latest book, entitled In Search of Christian Freedom, will be released in the Czech language. This book shows the gradual erosion of Christian freedom in the early Church and how in various churches the same process has continued until now. In regard to the fellowship of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, he demonstrates how the loyalty toward an organization can gain the upper hand over the faith. The book is aimed not only at people who are interested in the background of the system of beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses, but it describes how the mechanics of manipulation can generally work in any group.
Among others, Ray Franz is a main speaker at the seminar open to public and organized by the Society for Studies of Sects and New Religious Movements. The seminar will take place on October 11, 2007 and will be followed by a press conference.
Invitation to the Seminar and the Press Conference:
The seminar takes place on October 11, 2007 at 17:00 pm in the auditorium of the Protestant Theological Faculty, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic (Cerna 9, first floor, main aula).
The seminar will be presented in Czech and English in a question and answer format with active audience participation.
After the program, at 19:30 pm, Raymond Franz will participate in a press conference in the same location..
